    Adding UQ loops to hammock?

I have sewn loops along the very outside edge of all my hammocks to provide attachment for under quilts. It allows both attachment and adjustment. And NO it does not affect the strength or put any wear stress on the hammock body itself. I've used this method for several years with out any visible stress, tearing, or damage.

I've thought of that, but then noticed my UQ isn't actually wide enough to clip to the edge of the hammock w/o pulling the extra fabric down. Once dialed in at least I don't need any extra help to seal an UQ.

I have a set of DH tarp clips but they are about 8" down from each end and they just don't do a whole lot. My current UQ suspension attaches to the SRL with prussiks and has a lot of adjustment possibilities.

My experience as well. And with experience over the years I have found the once I position the UQ it never moves off my shoulder.

That said, I like the way the OP created the daisy chain loops with the cordage.
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

Attachments points for all of my down quilts are made by a channel sewn through the width of the quilt, enclosed, so it is isolated from the down filling, thus none can leak out. The elastic protrudes through sewn button hole stitching.
The advantage is that the elastic keeps the quilt up tight against my back, but since it is puckerded slightly, and also strechy, it gives a little. (3/8" elastic) IMG_20201012_033036.jpg
Several different attachment hooks can be used to attach the elastic loops to the sewn on loops of my hammocks.

The UQ shown here weighs in at 457 gr. slightly over 1 lb. It is 48"x36" and has about 9oz. Of down. It is made using the fabric from 2 quick fold windshield sun shades, and the advantage of any 'metalic reflective' fabric can not be over stated.

9oz. of down in a quilt that size? Yup, it lofts up pretty good!

Material from 2 quick fold windshield shades? I don't think I've seen anything down filled out of that. Certainly unique.

That's usually just sort of thin Relflectex, which doesn't breath all that well. Do you have condensation problems?

Weight penalty is a bit stiff, for me, but I'm way too picky. Nice work!

It's not the thin foam fold up type of sun reflector. It's made of the sun reflector that has the flexible wire and is black on one side, metallic on the other. Made a tiny hole and cut the wire and pulled it out. Then simply used the fabric like any other. About $20 for two. No condensation, no down leakage. Not the least bit stiff.

I didn't really mean the material was stiff, although thats good to know. I guess for me @ 457gr 48" x 36" not all that heavy.

An HG Econ Phoenix comes in right @ 492gr but is a bit larger for the same temp range @ 52" x 44" for around $150.

What do you have invested, time and materials?

The windshield shades were maybe $10 or $12 at WM. Notions and hooks +- $15 and the down I got approximately $30. So all in all it was maybe 5 or 6 hrs to complete. It has a lot of button holes for cording. And, thinking up what I want in the end
