Thanks MaxB.
As the days pass there's so much more I wish I had included in the report like more on the weather and specifically the rain, the character of the portages, the virtues of the humble mcintosh apple and crumpets, an encounter with the rare spotted Algonquin anaconda and so much more.
Alas.

Thank you Chard for sharing the experience with us. Hopefully one day soon we can come hang again. Stay well everyone.
H will be sad she missed a trip with a canine friend.
Wow,nice trip report Chard !
After reading that last paragraph there was nearly rain in my living room. Beautiful.
No signs,no fees,no rules, nobody. My kind of campsite.
For those interested, the YouTuber Tumblehome did the same loop in reverse back in the spring of 2018. It's cool seeing the same waters we traveled in full flood.

Wow, Chard, that report was a thing of beauty. A joy to read. Thank you for taking your readers along.
That route (in reverse) was my very first Algonquin canoe trip, in 2012.

You brought back some memories!
Thanks, I'm glad you made it past my overly enthusiastic use of the word "orange" in the first paragraph.
I took a peek at the 2012 canoe trip you cited and saw that it was just one of many wonderful photo essays of past trips over water, wood and road. I'm looking forward to browsing through them all with a nice big glass of red wine.

Winter is for wine and trip reports, and dreaming over topo maps.
