Unless you are using a hammock with a long “V” suspension length and want to close doors - like the WB RidgeRunner specifically - there is no reason for a longer tarp. One reason I use my GE more than the bridge is it can use trees closer together. That advantage is undermined if I need longer tree distance because of the tarp length.

DutchWare has an interesting Wide Asymmetric tarp. It as two connection points so you can extend the width out a little wider or have longer coverage along the ridgeline. It would be nice if some design like that would be built into more tarps (assuming ridgeline waterproof integrity could be maintained) - like long/short connecting points on the tarp ridgeline.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

FWIW.. I went from two 11' tarps (MamaJamba & Superfly) to two DIY 12' tarps (with and without doors) and then back to 11's (HG cuben hex with and without doors and a Palace). No question the added space was nice. And after I added a center pole mod, the 12's were like circus tents. But the added space came with a big price tag and I wasn't willing to backpack with them. If you are car camping or don't mind lugging the extra ounces they are a joy. I don't miss the extra length, width or weight.
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....
