You will thank yourself for picking one of these up - also works on the smaller REI backpacking chairs.

But that adds even more weight and bulk! Next thing you know I’ll be carrying a whole chicken and a full sized cross cut saw!

Thank you for the compliment, much appreciated. Every now and then I bring a real camera; in this case, it was a better quality point and shoot. It does much better than even the excellent camera on the iPhone. It was simply a matter of being in the right place at the right time. I got up to answer natures call just as the sun peaked through those trees and there was mist and haze in the air from the recent rain storm.

Nice and quick... sounds as if you really deserved it!

Great pics! I love it when there's some mix of sun and mist. Always makes for interesting photos and you can show the family what they missed, and it goes a long way toward 'splainin' the "Why?" you enjoy getting out there.

If I’m going to bring a ~1lb+ camp chair, I’m **** well bringing the 5oz ground sheet to prevent me from sinking into the ground.

The only other sure fire way of preventing it is to leave the chair at home.

The few times that I've carried the Chair Zero I've been able to find a rocky surface or some smaller rocks to put under the legs. Definitely easier some places than others.

A few weeks back, when camping with friends at the little 'isthmus' between Upper and Lower Goose Pond (MA) there were a bunch of bricks from a demolished house (or some such) and those were great. Very solid and also raised the chair a couple of inches, which made it even better!

I have not carried my ground zero chair on my last 4 trips now.. honestly, i have not missed it yet or felt i needed it. I feel like in Harriman or Catskills I am just fine using my GG 1/8 thinlight pad to sit on. Yes the chair is nice when I have carried it.. even nicer when I have carried it and USED it!! I will never get rid of it.. I think i will just always contemplate whether to bring it or not before I walk out the door .. maybe even before I leave my car at the trail head! Its not a make or break 1 lb for me..
The factor for me is.. 1 less thing to have to worry about at camp.

    My philosophy eggzakly!

Gotta admit, it was super nice when MikekiM and I had the chairs earlier this year at Big Hill.

Hahaa... im sure. We almost made it there, but fell short! I am sure had you not had them, you would have made due.. but having it with you is definitely something special. It is 100% a luxury item that I can do with or without and I am a believer in the camp chair!!
