I am one but there are several of us. Just got back from a 3-nighter, burning that stove almost 24 hours a day

Pretty warm today ~40°F and for the next few days so we're going to have a lot of melt...

These poles are fairly hefty (abt 11oz each) but they're made for big people and extend to 150cm, which is about the max I've ever seen. Thankfully they're flick lock, which is IMO far, far better than twist lock. Shaft diameters are 18,16 and 14mm (!!) so the wall thickness is 1mm... these are very stout.

On Sunday, a friend of mine and I hiked up to Big Hill from Horse chock (Willow Grove) and the trails were in very good shape. Not a huge sample but generally the rest of the park should be the same.

Tomorrow I'm doing another Sub 24... still haven't decided on trailhead. Lemme know if you want to meet up somewhere and do a loop. Might be raining Thursday morning but no worries with a short hop out. I'm planning to bring my Duomid (blasphemy alert!) and see if I can still sleep on the ground.

Define “ good shape “ please. Do you still have snow on the ground? It’s been gone for days on the island.
I was hoping to take the kids to the fire tower in Sterling Forest, but they don’t have snowshoes so I’ll have make an alternate plan if there’s still snow.

There's not a speck of snow anywhere! There might be some icy spots here and there after tonight, but nothing you can't simply walk around. I'm absolutely not taking microspikes. The next rain in the forecast is also a warm one so I don't expect that to change. Some of the trails that run right alongside swamps might be a bit icky. Surely in all those 43,000 acres there are some significant blowdowns after the recent storm, although we were surprised Sunday that there weren't more on our little hike.
