We had a weird chilly snap here in MN in the first week of September. I decided I'd best get a proper winter topquilt before winter actually gets here. The main requirement was, I wanted it to be synthetic. I'm an everynight at home hammocker in an apartment. I think the heat is run from New Orleans. Maybe Tempe. Certainly not by anyone who knows what it's like here. The TQ might occasionally also be taken camping, but it'll be my main blankie full time all winter. Down is great, but higher maintenance than I'm up for.

That narrowed the field right down to an Arrowhead Equipment White Cloud versus Enlightened Equipment Enigma APEX. One's made in Montana, the other in Minnesota. Both will know about the weather I get. Whew! Long story shorter: the AHE TQ was $50 less for a slightly better temperature rating. And AHE promised 4-8 days versus EE's 5-7 weeks (!!). Easy choice already. Plus the AHE quilt has fewer bells & whistles I don't want. Bonus!

(We already have two underquilts in the house, both from AHE. They seem to make what I like. But shopping is still a worthwhile exercise.)

So I placed the order last Thursday, 10 Sep. On Monday evening, 14 Sep, I got the USPS tracking number. That's a 2-day production time (Fri + Mon)! Today, 16 Sep, USPS got it to me. Yay USPS!

So here's a tip o' the hat to the team at Arrowhead. Thank you!
