    Warbonnet for a big guy.

I'm looking into getting a warbonnet blackbird. I was wondering what would be good for me. I'm 5'9 260lbs. Any suggestions would be helpful

I'd suggest looking at the SPECS box on the bottom left on the Blackbird Hammock page.

    HAMMOCK COMPARISON CHART
Note: The weight ratings listed below are based on comfort, not absolute tensile strength. So for instance the single layer is rated for a max of 250 lbs because users above that weight will experience more stretch than is ideal and so would be more comfortable in something with more support (like the Heavyweight double). The comfort ratings can be pushed somewhat but you will be trading in comfort in doing so.

    Single Layer Blackbird:
Max comfort range: up to 275 lbs
    Max load: 350 lbs
Hammock weight (without suspension): 15.75 oz.
    Fabric: 40D Nylon

    Lightweight Double Blackbird:
Max comfort range: up to 275 lbs
    Max load: 350 lbs
Hammock weight (without suspension): 1lb. 5.75oz.
Fabric: 40d Nylon Outer, 20d Nylon Inner

    Heavyweight Double Blackbird:
Max comfort range: up to 400 lbs
    Max load: 400 lbs
Hammock weight (without suspension): 1lb. 11.75 oz.
    Fabric: 70D Nylon (x2)

Listed weights include net top and stuffsac but not the suspension

Double layer blackbird XLC's are great (I am 5'10, 250-265lbs at any given time). I have both the heavy weight and the lightweight. The lightweight is my favourite but at my weight it does stretch a little, for example my wookie underquilt would often pop its rubber band when I tossed over in the middle of the night until I added a little length to it (small carabiner), this does not happen with the heavy weight because it stretch's much less (so i don't use the extra carabiner with the heavyweight).

HEY - I am also in the 5' 11" about 250 and I love my XLC Double layer.... and I can tell you that I have a CHEAP Wise Owl single just hanging in my back yard for those quickie naps or evening hangs and it holds me just fine. Enjoy

I am 6" and 220 and I've been enjoying the lightweight double. It has some stretch I went for the dream tex but can be pretty comfy if done right.
