Near Lake Logan in NC (near Waynesville/canton)

    Hello,

I am looking for a hammock camping friendly place to spend the night near one of my favorite fishing spots. Anything near Lake Logan in NC that folks would like to reccomend?

    thanks!

Well darn it - I guess that means there is unlikely to be a spot.

Think you need to boldly go where no hanger has gone before

As a North Carolina guy I can't think of many places where you can't hang a hammock around here. I've even seen guys hanging in The Laurels on Roan Mountain!

Black Balsam / Shining Rock along with Middle lw Prong and Flat Laurel Creek are just up the hill from you in 215. Panthertown valley is farther away but nice. If you are going overnight be sure to check the USFS site on any restrictions - ie bear canisters.
