Took my daughter Ezri up to the White Mountains a few weeks ago for some backpacking. No hammock on this one - we shared a tent. We stayed at the Liberty Springs campsite and went over Mt. Liberty and Flume on Day 1. I wasn't sure if she'd be up for tackling the whole ridge but she was game so on Day 2 we went over Little Haystack, Lincoln and Lafayette. Very windy at points but the temps were mild making for a sporty and fun time above treeline. The trip down was a death march. She was very tired by this point and it was slow going the rest of the way. But she did great and I'm very proud of her. 15 miles and 6800' vertical gain is a lot for an 11 year old!
