    Universal top cover.....

I love my new HG hammock but have always wanted a top cover for it since both my XLC & Chameleon have one. I just found a new product from Ridge Outdoors on Amazon that's a top cover for their 11' "Pinnacle" hammocks that both have beastie D's along the perimeter. With a cost of only $25, it wasn't a huge loss if it didn't fit so I went ahead and ordered it. It came via next day Prime and I just put it on my HG hammock : IT FITS ALMOST PERFECTLY !!. All of the toggles on the cover line up with the D's on the hammock and the length is exact as well. I honestly didn't think it would work but I'm glad I took a chance on it. The construction is nice with no loose threads or seams, it has a mesh vent on each peak, it weighs very little and seems pretty durable. Below are a few pics from the Amazon page and here is the link if anyone is curious : https://www.amazon.com/Ridge-Outdoor...9503053&sr=8-3 . Maybe after seeing this, HG will offer one with the same design since it doesn't require a zipper for attachment. Want does everyone that already uses or is in the market for a winter cover think : good idea or no ?
I'll post a video review either tonight or tomorrow showing it actually on my HG hammock and how well it fits.

Absolutely. The quality is what you'd expect from a $25 cover vs the ones that WB and Dutch offer for example, but it's a great budget option I think and could easily be a diy project or made by a cottage manufacturer to increase the quality. And at that price point I think it's definitely worth it for anyone that needs a cover since it could be made to attach to ANY hammock with a minimal amount of sewing skill/money.

Does it attach with just the toggles, or does it also have a zipper? I checked the Amazon page but it wasn't quite clear.

The perimeter attaches with just toggles and there is a loop at each end that the hammock goes through as seen in the 2nd picture above. Also, It can be used with or w/o the hammocks netting underneath, but having the netting zipped on will help hold in more warm air ( and possibly more condensation unfortunately). So far it seems like it just might be one of the few mass produced products sold on Amazon that can actually be used by the type of hammock user found here on HF. I will have a video up today that shows it on my HG hammock with up close views of the attachments and craftsmanship.
