Finally got the parts together to build a Turtledog stand for the back yard. Really happy with it!

I've debated about standing up some 6x6 posts in the yard, but opted for a portable/collapsible stand instead. The black fence top rail is about 13'6" between eye bolts and the legs are about 7' long. A bit of gaffers tape over the pipe joint protects the tarp from snagging and tearing. Well under $100 all in.

Took about an hour in total to put it together yesterday. I looked at the weather forecast and saw a thunderstorm coming in around 4am this morning, so I dug out the tarp and set things up. A bit of leg adjustment and strap tightening and everything was in position.

The forecast was right on, and from 4-7am the pooch and I slept soundly through the wind, rain, and lightning.

It collapses down better than I'd expected. I can strap it down under/next to a canoe on my roof rack to camp at sites without suitable trees.

Now to see how long the wife tolerates it in the yard!
