The only other option if all the west trailheads are closed is to hopefully find one of the dispersed camp spots on CR1460 on the map to park at and hike in. There really isn't any parking spots on the East side of the fire tower on Tower Ridge other than a few fire road sections that a few cars could park at. I could PM my phone # if necessary to help if needed.
But hopefully the parking at the fire tower will be good Friday afternoon since most people probably come from the west side and with construction going on, it'll deter them.
I recall the sign saying something like "No parking next 6 miles" but I can't remember where that starts. But I guess that's only for Fire Tower Road up against the actual wilderness boundary. CR1460 seems like fair game, if there are any clearings.

I guess I'll just go for it. I really don't want to do that 2.5mi road walk from the south but that will be a guaranteed spot.

When looking at the Forest Service map, Tower Ridge Road will be closed from the west off highway 446. Google Maps will direct you to S. Hunters Creek Road to avoid the closure. Those coming from the east will not be affected

Rain is likely Friday, but rest of weekend looks good. Man up and put on your rain gear.

Hope to see a bunch of people attend.

Forgot to add, the area of forest temporarily closed is all south of Tower Ridge Road. This might also mean fewer people going to the fire tower.

That plus Friday rain could knock them down. BTW last time I was there in April they had caution tape and signs closing off the tower. Of course, someone tore that down and threw it on the ground.

OH! I've only been complaining about that for about 10 years now. There are plenty of places to ride horses; a designated wilderness is not one IMO. Especially when it's the only one in the state, and grossly overused. I hope they're not just figuring this out now.

I am not familiar with the area. So I won't be going if there's no clear way to get there and where to park.
