Thats amazing. I always have my bars scraping agains the tarp when I get out of the hammock. Buying a pair right now.
Do they hold up to the removal and replace over and over and stay tight?
They fit tight but have not put them through a year yet. For $2.87 if I have to replace that is fine with me. No matter how careful I was, I still ended up hitting the tarp, since installing these I haven't worried. I just keep them in the pocket of the Ridgerunner. They are so snug I believe they will hold up for a few years.
I don't understand how anyone doesn't hit the tarp with their ridgerunner. I have never set up my RR not hitting the tarp. The hammock has a vertical range from when I'm laying in it to when I get out of it and the tarp shouldn't be too much higher otherwise wind and rain can sneak under it. If anyone is a pro at this let me know.
I don't know if this is exactly what your asking, but I did finally figure out how to have great distance once set up. My problem with hitting the tarp with the poles is in setting up the tarp. Also just don't want to worry about it.

This is a great idea, thank you. Going to have to stop by Home Depot tomorrow and grab some.
I use a rubber bumper that looks like it was made from a 2” section of bicycle inner tube with a hole on one side for the pole point. But I just pull the sides out. They are close, but don’t touch. Using External Pole mod helps even more. I don’t think “rubbing” is a given - hasn’t happened to me.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.
