VIDEO: Return to Hammock Camping in the Northern White Mountains

After a two year hiatus from backpacking I dusted off the hammock and went out for a night in the northern Whites, hiking over Mt. Cabot before camping at the Horn. Incredible sunset and sunrise and it was great to get back out there again. Put together a video of my trip which I hope you'll enjoy.

Sunrise and sunset - beautiful. I can’t wait for cooler weather - it’s like a sauna here in NC.
Do you put your air mattress all the way in the sleeping bag or just the foot - and how does it work for ya?

I put it all the way in. I found if I lay it under the bag it tends to get pushed off to the side in the night. Having it in the bag keeps it in place for me. Thanks for watching!

Here's a short follow-up video I made about the day hike I did following my hammock overnight:

I like the brevity of your videos. Clear and concise.

Quite the beard. All I could ever muster up was the Regimental or Van Dyke style. But I've had that for decades. Looks like Solomon shoes,

Thanks much. Yeah, I'm working on keeping the videos not too long. Unlike the beard which I've let grow for three years now. I think we're reaching the peak of its length though...

As for the shoes, yep those are the Solomon Speedcross 4s. I've been using them for the last few years in the White Mountains for both hiking and running. Great grip on all the open rock of the Whites.
