A lot of the older members have lots of gear. When you have plenty but want something else, find it in FS section @ close to new price they just order new leaving the used to the ones in a hurry & don't have time to wait.

Another possible reason could be the emergence of the Facebook/Social Media for sale groups. I don't know how long they've been around but it seems like about the time I discovered them was close to the same time the For Sale posts here started drying up.

As a newer member without much unique to add to most threads I have gear I'd like to sell, but I don't think I'll get to the post threshold where I'll be able to create new threads in that part of the forum for a very long time.

This forum is a bit of a library; the older it gets the less need there is to post questions as someone has likely answered it before in another thread.

You might still want to post your questions. Over time the gear improves, the areas to hang change, and new innovations come around. So, your answers may be different than historical data.

Agreed there, but things don’t change that fast. General internet etiquette tells us to search instead of rehash questions... meaning the need to relearn for this forum. Not that it’s a bad thing

Searching and reading the historical answers is always good but there has been a number of changes that cottage vendors have implemented in their gear which can really change things...obviously totally up to you but for me having current data points only add value.

Totally agree, just thinking about balancing forum clutter vs. useful content. I think most other forums struggle with the “too many repeated questions” problem. Less of that here imo

New member here and new to hanging. I've appreciated being able to scan the marketplace for quality stuff. Haven't made my first purchase yet but can speak to the near instant sell. I was surprised too see that and now refresh multiple times a day. Starting to feel a bit like a junkie.

Do we have a "Searching 2 Buy Thread"? I would think if someone wanted a specific item they could inquire there and if someone else has that item unused for a period of time they might want to consider selling it.

There is a WTB (Want To Buy) sub-forum in the same forum as the FS threads! And that works too.
