Consider just clipping your main backpack to the hammock and going on dayhikes with a packable daypack like one of these:

    https://www.amazon.com/Eagle-Creek-P...dp/B06XH44JXM/

Or alternatively just taking your pack's detachable hood (if you have one) or fanny pack on dayhikes.

If that doesn't work, then your hammock IS your storage. Just dump the bag out into the hamock and go on your hike (except food - no unattended food in the hammock!)

Never felt anything. Just shove gear aside if it does.

I use a Molly Mac gear box clone. Love it.

I can either hang it right next to me in-line with the hammock, or multiple other ways.

I’m going to give this sea to summit packable duffle bag a try. Waterproof and only 80g. It can just sit under my hammock on the ground or on my chair if needed for bugs/rodents overnight.

    Yey, I can contribute already!

I have the gear hammock (it's called Underbelly here for some reason). The ropes it came with are a little bit to short when I use my BB, so that it pokes my UQ under my head. Will replace them and it should solve the issue.
Another thing you have to remember when using it is that it requires a higher hang. If the ground is perfectly flat, I find is easy to solve. When I have to camp with uneven ground, it can sometimes be a little tricky.

It has never affected my sleep. Used it all spring and summer with TTTM and BB.

I use my pack cover as a "basket" to put things into under the hammock. A large trash bag would also work fine.
