Just started labeling my Hammock Gear.

I just started to label my hammock gear. It's so helpful!

Anyone else do it or have other suggestions for staying organized?

Good idea. What did you use for the labeling?

Just a silver sharpie. It bleeds through to the other side of the stuff sack so make sure you put a piece of cardboard in it.

I was also thinking about doing temp ratings on my sleeping bags because sometimes it's hard to remember the specific rating and I don't want to have to pull it out just to look at the tag.

I use dollar store tags. This way I don't mark up the stuff sacks if I want to sell anything.

Pardon the penmanship, my parents were convinced I was destined to be a Dr. They may have been disappointed...

    Silver Sharpies are almost magic.

But who uses stuff sacks anymore!

Not a bad idea. Once I've started accumulating enough gear, I'll start doing the same thing. Depending on how you store your gear, writing on the bottom of the stuff sacks might make for easier finding of what your looking for.

Great ideas. Helps to organize and load quickly. Although my wife says I only hike so I can spread gear out in the living room for two days and look at it. (how perceptive she is)

    just to start..

    40* asym underquilt - grey
    40* symm underquilt - black
    40* topquilt - grey/black

there's a pattern here. how i choose it, appears to be less structured..

Sometimes Harbor Freight has a “Free with Purchase” item that is useful. But I don’t want to make a large purchase to get the “free” item. For 99 cents, they sell a bag of tags with a plastic case on a lightweight split ring. Just the thing to put on the draw string of those pesky (but useful) stuff sacks.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

As a person that once took two tarps and no hammock on a trip 3 hours away from home, I approve of this.
