No, we did not end up needing to use them for hanging.
We've only tried the Trekking Treez for hanging for a few minutes, several days prior to leaving for that trip, to make sure we knew how to use them.

WA Goat Rocks Wilderness hanging sites?

Gotcha. Have you had a chance to use them anywhere else? I’ve been wondering how useful they’d be for one-tree-hang-scenarios...

No. As I said, we only used them (EVER) for a few minutes to learn how to use them. That was it. In that limited experience, we concluded they would have worked fine, provided you practice and know what you're doing, and once on the field, you really secure the stakes/anchors well. During our practice time, we fell on our butts several times because the stakes pulled out of the ground. It made us wonder if we should have gotten the longer stakes.

So, there's a definite learning curve. If we'd had to use them on the field, and thruout the night, getting in and out of hammocks, we would have definitely spent a lot of time really securing them, possibly even using large rocks to weigh them further, just for good measure. It'd depend on the soil type.
