    Tarp Tie Out Question

I have a Silnylon WB Superfly on it's way and I want to add some shock cord to my tie outs, what diameter do y'all use? I was all ready to order some 3/16" and be done with it but I figured I'd check in here and see if there's any good reason not to use 3/16.

How are you planning on connecting your shock cord to the tie outs?

I’m currently using the Line Lock Hicks from Dutch and hook into 1/8 shock cord that I simply tied a loop onto the triangles of my Superfly. Works great and the LL Hooks clip in nice and secure.

Pretty sure I used 3/16 on my tarp tensioners. Have always done the job. Might have used thicker a couple of times as that is what I had.
    All worked.
I show how to tie them at around 9:16 in video below.

I haven't gotten far enough into all of it where I've purchased any fancy hardware, just going to use some basic knots for now. For attaching the cord I haven't decided between tied to my zing it, in line or just keeping a permanent loop hitched to my tarp to tie to, figured I'd play around with a couple things and see how it goes.

This video is actually the first I saw on the subject, I've seen several of your vids in fact. I can easily get 1/4" for the same cost just about, if you were going to order new would you go 3/16 again or go thicker? is there any disadvantage to thicker other than additional bulk/weight? seems like it would be easier to keep things good and tight and still have plenty of give with the heavier stuff. Thanks for helping everyone out, I see a lot of your posts on here as I read through various threads

If you’re just using knots, then I would defer to Shug with the 3/16. If it can handle his Minnesota weather I’m sure it’s up to the task most anywhere.

I used 1/8" shock cord with Dutch hook worms attached to my guy lines. The hook snaps on to the shock cord loop larksheaded to the tarp D rings.
