    Aloha from Kauai

Aloha. I have been hanging for a while. Started out in a HH explorer deluxe, and recently switched to a Darrien. I also have a home made 11ft that I made from ripstopbytheroll kit. I sleep full time in the diy using a simple 4x4 and 2x4 stand. I have it so that it is on the same height as the bed my wife sleeps in, so we are still right beside each other. Have only been doing t he full time hang for a few months now, but my body has greatly appreciated the switch.

Welcome to HF. You live in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Lots of hanging opportunities there.

Very fortunate to live here, lots of beautiful places to hang. I made a tensa stand that I can take with me and hang on any beach I want. Your son has a lot of nice places over on Maui as well, just a few to many people for our liking. Kauai is way more rural, and hopefully stays that way.

    Aloha from Oahu,
I’m also a new forum member and new to hanging and admittedly a ground dweller for the past fifty years.
Mostly used hammocks in MN Boundary Water while on canoe trips.
Been in the islands now for a couple years and finding some free time and good trails to hike.
