Anybody up for some Pillow talk ?

Having 4 major back surgeries,I do struggle a bit getting fully comfortable I’m my hammock.Along with discomfort in the lower back area, after a few minutes in a hammock I would develope a irritating head ache originating at the base of my scull. After an hour in the hammock,I would find myself on the ground or the floor if am porch hanging.
I purchased a cheap Ozark camping pillow,it was like a switch was flipped,no more headaches.Im thinking there are even better options,I’m open to recomendations and insights on better camping pillows, thanks.

Speaking of pillows, and speaking of lower back discomfort, have you experimented with a nice fat knee pillow?

I use a folded 4x6 fleece blanket as a pillow at home. That way I can adjust the thickness to match what I need at the time, eg. rolled thick for raising head to read or laid out thin so I don't get a headache while sleeping.

I love my climashield pillow from Simply Light Designs. It's a little bigger than most, but is still very light, and has the right amount of loft.

Anybody up for some Pillow talk ?

It's a little expensive but it's the most comfortable pillow I've ever had. Ive been using the Nemo Filo inflatable pillow for years. It is the perfect size to lay your head on in a hammock. When it is not being used in the hammock it's being used on the couch. It's tough, adjustable, and washable. I just purchased the next size up called the Nemo Filo Luxury inflatable pillow. I use it under my legs to eliminate pressure on my heels and ankles when in a gathered end hammock, (it eliminates calf ridge too). Both pillows have a loop on one end. I put a mini carabiner thru the loop on each one and hang them on my ridge line so they don’t fall out of the hammock when getting in or out.

Nemo Filo inflatable pillow (17”x11"x4") (9oz.)

Nemo Filo Luxury inflatable pillow (20”x11"x4") (12oz.)

I agree. I love my SLD pillow. I ordered a second one with the overstuffing and I love it more than the first.

If under my neck, the pillow tips my head up too much. If I use one at all, it’s either under a knee for support variation or by the side of my head to push the bug net away.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.
