The Hudson River is a terrific quilt. I got mine a few years ago used (from Peppy) and have come to really appreciate it. So far I've only ever used it in top quilt mode, but it's supposed to be able to function as an underquilt as well by adding some shock cord. The quality of the JRB products is first rate. I can't recall EVER reading a bad review of one of their quilts. On the rare occasions when one comes up for sale here on the forums, it will usually sell pretty quickly.

Thanks. 48" wide seems a bit narrow though yeah? Not for hammock exclusive but if looking to use it for occassional ground TP.

I highly recommend against using a topquilt for TP, but hey, HYOH, right?

I have the JRB Stealth with the poncho hole. Never used it for years until last time out, and left my way too heavy down coat at home. Only for use around the campsite and of course no bushwhacking of any sort, but I didn't wear my jacket for that anyway so little chance of that happening while wearing my insulation!

It worked really well and if you carry "Shugs" Stansport Stool when you sit down the front doesn't come close to touching the ground and the footbox will even let you tuck it into the X support on the stool in back. Probably wouldn't use it around a campfire like that but it was very nice for that last hour or so enjoying the night settle in around you before turning in. I will do this again.

It was a huge volume reduction. Even replacing my old jacket with a Mont-bell down sweater it's like I gained 25% of my pack space back.

How did I even get that other jacket to fit in there?
