    Too little fabric.... again

I have once again ordered 3 yards instead of 4 yards of fabric (monotlite this time) intended for a single layer hammock. I'm pretty sure I know the answer but there's no good way to tack an extra yard on to the end to get it closer to 4 yards w/o creating a major weakness, right?

Best idea I can think of is to make the suspension channels out of a separate piece of fabric which would gain 8" to 12" maybe. i.e. the channel would be a folded C shape that would capture the end of the main sheet. The stitching shear load would double now having to carry the full loading instead of half. --- sorry the best I got.

Order again, this time correct length plus a about a foot extra, to allow for any errors, squaring up the ends and any seams on end channels. Save the too short first one for other projects.

+1 on re-order. Even if you were to add on and it held, you will always be thinking of it.

re-order the correct length. Yes, you probably can get it strong enough to work, but the seam will not stretch and react the same as the other fabric and it will not be comfortable.
