VIDEO: Kilkenny Traverse | White Mountains

Had a good few days in the woods hiking the Kilkenny Ridge Trail in the White Mountains. This is the northern most section of the Whites and less crowded which made for a very relaxing trip. Finding good trees to hang was a little challenging (as it often is in the Whites).

Thanks for posting this! I just started watching. I have a trip planned for this in late September. How dry was it? I've seen some reports that finding water (at higher elevations I think) was starting to be an issue.

Going SOBO it was pretty dry after Unknown Pond. After Cabot if you go down Bunnell Notch Trail about a 1/4 mile, there will be a small brook on the right that you climb down to and then again at Willard Notch just before the York Pond Trail. Nothing after Willard Notch though. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for a very well done video of this area, and your experience. You certainly conveyed the true nature of the Kilkeny Ridge Trail in your quiet lack of dialogue, thoughtful music, and editing. Considering the very light size of your packs, adding the drone camera scenes is all the more exceptional. The weather of those two days just worked out perfectly for you. The entire Coos Trail system magical.

For supplimental information about conditions on the Kilkenny Ridge Trail, the websites Views from the Top, and New England Trail Conditions are most up to date.
Since I retired, some times I stay awake all day, some times all night.

It sure was. Not as grand as the presidential range for sure, but so many less people. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the kind words! The weather was great. It started raining a bit on the way down to the car but waited to open up until we were back in the car...love when that happens I want to do the whole Cohos Trail for sure.
I use New England Trail Conditions all the time, love that site. Thanks for watching!!!

Great footage! Loved the atmospheric music and really enjoyed the drone footage. Especially at the Horn where I recently camped. Nice job!
