A short but very challenging solo 33 mile hike along a hot and humid trail that was in full green. In 2 days, I backpacked from the Castle Danger Trailhead north to Penn Boulevard Trailhead at Silver Bay. I am not really good in the heat and typically do not backpack in it. The temperatures were only 80-85 degrees F, but the humidity was off the charts. I made it through, but it wasn't easy.

One Day 1, I hiked through Gooseberry Falls State Park, along re-route on the road, up through Blueberry Hill and down to the Split Rock River to camp.

On Day 2, I hiked from camp at Split Rock River to camp at the Beaver River. Along the way, I passed Chapins Ridge, Christmas Tree Ridge, Beaver Pond, and Fault Line Ridge. Rain rolled through in the afternoon and man was it refreshing.

On Day 3, I hiked from camp on the Beaver Bay a few miles north to Silver Bay.

Since it was going to be warm, I got my pack down to a 14.5 lbs base weight and was at about 20lbs with food and 2 liters of water.
