Question Ga: Amicalola Falls State Park Question

In October I'm thinking about going a section hike the AT and the approach trail from a yet to be determined location on the AT and hike back to Amicalola Falls State Park. My question is does the park allow you to leave your car in the park overnight if you are not camping there, it will only be therefor 3 or 4 days? if so does any one know how much they charge?

    thanks

I have left my car in the lot at the lodge for two or three nights just on the daily gate fee. Been some time ago, so call and check.
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.

I did a hike from there two years ago. Parking will not be a problem. When you check in at the office they will tell you to park along the dirt road that branches off the main drive between the office and the park entrance.

You can park at the springer mountain access if it is any issue. Plenty of cars left there.

    +1 on this suggestion.

I've left my car there a week in what they call long term parking. You'll need to pay the gate fee or parking fee or whatever it's called, hang the tag on the rearview mirror and just drive up that dirt road as described. Depending on how busy they are, they may tell you to park at the top of the hill near the lodge in what's called bus parking. We've also done that on some overnight to three or four night trips.

Basically, check in at the visitor's center when you get there, tell them your plans and they'll tell you where to park. No sweat. They're used to it.
