Emigrant Wilderness with the Bro-In-Law, 17-19 Jul 2020

I have to offer some big thanks to my wife's youngest brother for inspiring me to finally get off of my duff and back into the backcountry. This is my first non-car camping trip since I was a teenager, and it was a total blast. It wasn't anything too major, we did 2 nights and a total of about 9 miles for the entire trip. We were both out of practice and short on gear, so we spent several weeks getting ready, but it was worth it. Here are a few highlight photos:

Him (left) and me (right) a few miles into the first day.

The two of us at Camp Lake (please pardon my gut)

I didn't take any pictures of day 3, but that was just heading back the way we came, so there wasn't really anything new to see, anyway. I hope you enjoyed the pics and the trip report. Hopefully, there will be more of these reports in the future.

I like to have an extra queen of each color just in case a pawn gets promoted.
