    Howdy from Montana!

    Hi Everyone,

I'm a Montana gal who uses a hammock in the bedroom, in place of a traditional bed. One year ago I bought an ENO Doublenest hammock and an ENO SoloPod stand. It was my first hammock, so I reasoned that ENO was a good brand for a beginner to start out with. It proved so comfortable that I sold my bed and have been hammock-sleeping ever since. My goal is to eventually embrace the van-dwelling lifestyle and move my hammock into the van that I will be traveling in and camping out of. I therefore want to learn about proper hang and the hundreds of other little details that you more experienced folks know.

    Nice to meet y'all.
    Chawsee

Howdy from the Bitterroot. You will find HF is plumb full of folks eager to answer your questions. Good luck and enjoy. I too spend most of my nights in a hammock.

Howdy, OITrailDog. I know your area well. Used to own a house in Corvallis. Visited old friends in the Bitterroot last month and couldn't get over how much it's grown. But reckon that's the way it is everywhere. Nice to meet you.

When I was in high school in Helena I use to make trips with my dad over to Zoola, down the Bitterroot, and take the back way over Chief Joseph home. My distinct impression at the time was it was rural from Missoula to Hamilton. Not so much anymore. However, I am now so near the end of my journey that I no longer let it get to me because I can't change anything but myself.

I worked up on the Flathead when I got out of high school. I over wintered at Snow Slip Inn, Big Fork, and Martin City. I sort of migrated southward to Helena and eventually Bozeman when I got married.
