    New hanger from WA

Hi all, I recently converted from a tent to a hammock. I have found the discussions on this website to be extremely helpful in picking gear and then learning how to use it.

I live in Washington State (just north of Seattle) and my primary choice for outdoor recreation is backpacking. So far I've only spent one night in the backcountry with my new gear but have spent several nights testing at home. There are a few things I'm still trying to dial in (e.g. UQ suspension), but I believe I'm taking to hammocks quite well.

I know I have much to learn and look forward to the day when I can contribute something back to the community.

Thanks, Shug. I rewatched the first video in the list; great stuff as always. I have a JRB Greylock 20 and I've been able to eliminate the gaps and stay warm in the night so far. The main issue I have now is the primary suspension touching my head. I can't figure out if I need to tighten it, loosen it, use Triangle Thingies or ridgeline connectors, or something else. Or do I need to just accept that as one downside of using an underquilt and get used to it?

Actually I just found this discussion where you mention loosening it or sliding it up toward the head. I'll try a couple things and see if I can work it out.

Yes..slide it up a bit more if you can. Or use a pillow to mask it.
