I reserved Holton Creek for Tuesday night Dec 29. I said there would be 4 of us, but I think that is flexible.
I did not reserve the Florida trail camps we plan on using because I can’t find where to do that.
I looked at the outfitters in the area but they seem to start or end their trips at their location on the river and it is difficult to tell how much it will cost if you don’t do that. Do you think it would be advantageous to use an outfitter or should we just do our own shuttle? This will be a bring your own gear and food trip in case anyone was wondering.

I only have one set of yak mounts on my roof bars but I have room for another set. Doing our own shuttles would give us more latitude. Park one or two cars at each end?
Sunset can you draw the route in a map? Google maps just to have an idea cause I’m lost but im definitely conspiring to be there.

These are links to google earth and a link to a mapquest showing the beginning and end points with a drive in between. The google earth did not show the pins for the location of the camp grounds but you can get close. Look at the florida trail maps to get a better idea.

I was recently at a paddling event in Alabama and ran into the owner of "Southern Paddling Guide". He was providing Shuttle services for the event although he normally does shuttling and tours of the Suwannee. He said he'd be happy to provide shuttling for us and his yak trailer would fit up to 10 yaks. I'll get in touch with him and see what he would charge. I don't think it would be too much. I'll let you know what I find out.
This is the map I usually use on the river.

Ok, so I've been emailing back and forth with the owner of SPG and he said what he usually does is have everyone park at the take out point and then he shuttles them and their kayaks/equipment to the start point. Makes sense, we wouldn't have to wait on anyone at the end if we finish early or late. Since we are only doing 4 miles the 1st day a later start won't be that critical.
He normally charges $90 for 4-6 people and their equipment. With 4 people that's $22.50/each for the shuttle service.
LMK what you think and I'll make the necessary arrangements if we decide to go that way.
That sounds good to me. I am trying to figure out when I can leave. I have a long drive and although 4 miles is short for the first day I don’t want to end in the dark mostly because the camps we are using are hiking trail camps and may be hard to find from the river. I would say go ahead and set that up.
