I am just about to pull the trigger on a Darin, just need to talk to Randy to find out about the colors I am choosing. I am 5'8 and trying to decide on how wide I should choose. Has anyone heard of Robic 1.7? Also what about going with a 10 footer instead of an 11 footer.
I had a netless hammock made out of the 1.7MTN which is about the same as Robic (or I think the MTN used to be called Robic and then later changed to MTN) and I like the material. only sold it because I was using a funky style bugnet with it and I prefer a hammock with an intergraded bugnet. I have a sparrow, dangerbird and have a darien on order and the 1.6 hyperD is my fabric of choice
I just started using a 10ft hammock and also have 11ft hammocks also. have not had the 10ft hammocks long but I like it but I'm 5ft 1in also.
check this link out about how long you should go, may give you a good starting point: https://dreamhammock.com/knowledge-b...ould-i-choose/

Thank you Soul embrace....
Papa Smurf,
I absolutely love my new Darien. I’ve set it up several times in the back yard and actually fell asleep in it for a couple of hours yesterday. So comfortable. Taking it on a 3-day backpacking trip this weekend to Cumberland Island, GA and then for a week-long section hike of the AT in Oct. Y’all do fabulous work!

I wish I would saw this earlier PapaSmurf,.,.., LOL You answered my questions..... I have a Dangerbird I got from you years ago and I am still enjoying it... With me getting on in years and still wanting to hike to places I love I wanted to go with the Darien to go lighter. I was just, shall I say it? I wanted to go with the 10 footer instead of the 11 footer. I just heard that you should go 11 footer for comfort and I do not want to lose that comfort,,.
