Good to know rubbing alcohol actually works, Thanks.

I had some sap in my beard from cutting a tree down and olive oil took it right out

Yep, you can dilute it with oils or dissolve it with things that strip oils, like rubbing alcohol or probably paint thinner. I just read you can remove rain-x from glass with water and vinegar, but it seems like alcohol would be fine for rain x since you can use glass cleaner on it and that often is alcohol based. Not sure if the long chain carbon molecules used in most DWR works the same way but if it's one of the newer safer friendlier wax-based ones don't use alcohol.

Dish soap is DA BOMB for getting bug guts off of things. Why? Because, dish soap is made for cleaning food off, and what are bugs?

I just rub mine into the soil to get the sticky less sticky. Never end up cleaning them. I seems to just go away in time. I do put my tree straps in a baggie is they are fouled.
