    Don't risk re-injuring the shoulder if you can help it.
    But at least have someone standing by to possibly help you out of the hammock. If you have a ridgeline on the hammock use that help get yourself out.

    Great Advice. PT is also critical, but sometimes we forget to tell the therapist or (peeteeist ) what our hobbies are and focus on "getting back to normal".

    I had shoulder surgery last November and still struggle in the hammock for long periods. Of course its 95 now with humidity, so I don't mind waiting a little longer.
