Towns end Luxury Bridge hammock + carbon fiber spreader bars

    Hello all,

For sale is a Towns end Luxury bridge hammock with the carbon fiber spreader bar upgrade. I acquired this hammock in August of 2019 and it has seen a few night outside, the rest of its days have been spent hung up and taking up space.

From the Towns end website, the hammock is made out of a hybrid 1.7 single layer fabric, and the weight of the hammock plus spreader bars is 21.375 oz. The weight of the spreader bars by themselves is 7.125 oz. “This system can be used for lightweight comfort at about 21 ounces for those right around 200lbs or under (limited testing to 225lbs).” (Towns end)

Included in this package is the “Just a bug net” made by towns end, which is a fronkey style bottom entry bugnet weighing in at 10.25 oz. Also included and seen in the pictures is a ridgeline organizer.

This luxury bridge hammock setup has seen very little use and needs a new home. I am looking to get $315 USD for this package, plus additional shipping costs from Canada to wherever you are located. Stay safe.

A not from Bill at towns end-While you can hang the bridge however you like- it is a less than ideal hang if you don't have the Ridgeline tight. Roughly- around 11'6" is what it's intended to be used at so when you go shorter than that the center ends up hanging very low/soft. Some people like that style as it's closer to a gathered end, but most folks who are looking for the flatter lay/extra back support would be unhappy with that much sag in the center. Just passing that on

In addition to this is a link to the bridge specs

I was using a hammock gear incubator in that one picture, seems to work pretty well. Minimum recommended distance all depends on what suspension system you are using. If i do recall the distance from apex to apex, i.e the end of amsteel dog bones is 11ft (when hung up), so the absolute minimum distance between anchor points would be very close to 11 ft. I have hung this hammock with trees 12 ft apart with ease. Most of the time i used whoopie slings larks headed to kevlar tree huggers to setup the hammock. From talking with Just bill he recommended using a whoopie sling on one end for adjustment and then a stationary suspension option at the other end, such as an atlas strap. Another way to compare the anchor point distances between this hammock and the RR is to compare how they setup on a Tensa4 stand. For the RR, you are usually required to shorten the dog bones or have some extra amsteel CL's. I was able to setup the luxury bridge on the tensa with ease.

Speaking of atlas straps, included with the hammock is a set of atlas straps. They make setting up the hammock super easy right out of the box.

The main advantage of this hammock for me was the lack of shoulder squeeze. I got painful shoulder squeeze when using a RR and this hammock solved it. Other than that, the option to not have to carry a bugnet, and just general comfort. You can sleep in any position imaginable in this hammock.

Hopefully that spiel answers your questions. Sorry moderators if this is out of the scope of the F.S forum.
