    Ridgerunner hiking poles mod

    Did this proof of concept mod for RR to get rid of the spreader bars. Slept 5 nights on it and seems to work fine.

    Looks good. What's the red and black strap material? Is that silicone inside? Watch for wear at the grommet.

    Strap is something I just picked from local hardware store. Standard load bearing strap.

    The white stuff is just some hot glue to keep everything in shape during sewing.

    Nice idea! Like the pocket. I bought the warbonnet fittings and did the mountainsmith monopole system. It works but haven't been completely sold on it since I am on topside of weight limits. Like your idea since you don't have to fiddle with the parts!
