Hey hangers!
Thanks for allowing me to join; I'm looking forward to learning and sharing the adventure. I subscribe to the adage, "If you only know four notes, teach someone who knows three", and so I hope to also share knowledge that I gain.
I've had a bunch of different cheap hammocks over the years, but made the switch from tents to hammocks when I realized how many places I backpack to that are easily hammockable (and wouldn't be a good place to tent camp). I am a side sleeper so still struggling with getting a perfect lay that works for me all night. I started with pads underneath at first (I do a lot of winter camping in the mountains), and found it freeing to move to an underquilt.
Just purchased a Chameleon from Dutch, so my newest setup will be that one. I use a Western Mountaineering overquilt and a homemade UQ (mom is a quilter so I roped her into a DIY project).
