Winter Hanging in Illinois

Hi, y'all!

I'm a Hoosier living in Cali and moving to Illinois this month. Is there any good spots within an hour or two of the Chicago suburbs for winter hammock camping?

I joined an Illinois camping group on Facebook and asked this question. There were a handful of suggestions that I'll check out but it felt like most of the responses consisted of "This isn't California!" and "But it gets cold in Illinois!" SMH

I&M Canal in Channahon
IL Beach State Park in Zion, I think they close Dec 31?
Chain O' Lakes State Park in Spring Grove
