When I first started hammocking, this was one of my great ideas. Just use a loop of shock cord! However, I found it to be a frustrating waste of time. Roll up the tarp, then reach into your pocket to get the shock cord - which can take a while to find. I even tried putting the shock cord loops on my wrist, but inevitably, the shock cord would end up on the ground, and then I'd have to reach down to pick it up, and the tarp would unroll. Start all over again. Repeat multiple times.
Snake skins are infinitely easier.
