    Question Permethrine: Canada ugh!

(Sorry if this post doesn't belong in this section but no idea where to put it; powers that be, feel free to place appropriately)

I'm in Canada; so it's not as easy as walking into your corner hardware store and grabbing a bottle of Sawyer permethrine or of the sort already per-diluted. So far it's still restrictive here, unless your part of the military or livestock(WTF!?) I thought I did hear something about MarksWorkWarehouse bringing clothes in that have it impregnated but eh i dunno.

I could order, but I did manage to find a "500ml volume bottle" of Superior Control Product which contains "12.5g/litres of permethrine" at a garden center.
(the only other ingredient added to this appears to be benzoic acid, sodium salt at .1% as a preservative)

My question for any math wizards here is; how much water do I need to add to this in order to get the proper recommended ratio of .5% permethrine so i can spray gear and/or soak garments.
My guess is approximately 1L give or take, but I dunno if it should be guess work or more of a science lol my head hurts

    Any help of coarse appreciated

You found it in a store? Cool! Where?

Last time I bought, I ordered from a place that seemed to specialize in home grow-ops. I found that amusing, but I'd be just as happy to buy from a place that deals more in geraniums and tomatoes. I need some more.

    Here's a link: https://thekoregarden.ca/product/gar...y-insecticide/

And here's their blog article on the stuff: https://thekoregarden.org/how-to-con...th-permethrin/

And here's a quote from said blog:
"Dilute 1 bottle of this concentrate into 750ml of water to create 1.25L of spray at 0.5% permethrin (formula for diluting concentrates): use this 0.5% mixture for spraying or soaking clothing, tents, sleeping bags, and other outdoor gear."

And here's a link to their explanation of the dilution math, in case you needed to know:

Thanks for store info. The Etobicoke location is closer for me (and on spouse's commute!). I'll be hooking up with some more, soon!

    V1C1 = V2C2 or Volume1 times Concentration1 = Volume2 times Concentration2
    You have (500ml x 12.5%) = unknown Volume times 5.0%
Divide both sides by 5% to bring the 'knowns' to one side of the equation and the unknown to the other.

    (500ml x 1.25%)/0.5% = unknown Volume or 1,250 mls final volume
    Enjoy!
