Joining the SLD Clan, Trail Lair & Winder!

    Hey Everyone!

Been talking to Jared most of the week, and finally figured out a config and ordered.
Should be a +1 week order or however long it would take.
And from talking to him everyone should know he barely sleeps like 3 hours a day he said xD

    Specs:
    Trail Lair
    11 ft lenght x 72 in width
1.6 HyperD XL - Olive Yellow - Should be a killer color.
4 Tie Outs (D-Rings), Under Quilt Hooks
    Amsteel Ridgeline - Fixed
    Removable Continuous Loops
    Argon 90 Windscreen/Cover - Burnt Orange
    1oz No-see-um Mesh - Fallen Leaves

    Trail Winder UQ
    10 ft Lenght
    3.6oz Apex Insulation
Argon 90 - Burnt Orange Out layer
Argon 90 - Forest Green Inner Layer

I am pretty excited, I moved from a symmetrical amazon hammock, tried it out yesterday, still love it for lounging. The XLC i got was to firm and i move to much. Ill post pictures and review when I get it!

I also drank the SLD koolaid this morning. I've been thinking about this for some time and the lastest round of Trail Lair hype pushed me over the edge when I found a fully tricked out one on ebay and my offer was accepted.

I e yet to pick up a TL, but I’ve ordered a bunch of stuff from Jared this year alone. So easy to work with and run ideas by. Ordered a bottom entry bugnet at 10:30 last night and woke up to the darn thing already shipping. For a guy who works alone, he’s amazingly on top of his game, not to mention he’s got a lot of business going for him.

Eventually I’ll bite the bullet on a TL, currently my top pick.

Let us (fan boys ) know what you think when you get them! Looking forward to seeing your set ups!

One thing I’ve learned is a really like a double layer for the firmness. My first was a double layer with pad opening as I didn’t have an UQ at the time and wanted to insert a pad. It worked fine but when I went to a single layer later I realized I liked that support from the double. The singles later become my boys hammocks when they were much smaller and it worked out fine.

Personally, for me it is a +1 on the DLs. I've had/have SLs and DLs and prefer the versatility and abuse confidence of the DLs for most of my hammock use. I will use a SL for back packing, or better yet a DL Hammocktent 90, for the weight and space savings. But I spend far more time, e.g. nightly, in a DL.

Awesome! I was looking at that auction as well! Glad to hear someone from here got it. I wasn't sure about the double layer...

The DL is my preference, as is the heavier fabric, for nightly use and truck camping. Problem is if it as sweet as all the hyperbole I just might have to get a stripped down SL version for backpacking
