    RSBTR reflective stretch mesh

Is anyone familiar with rip stop by the roll's new reflective stretch mesh? It stretches in one direction and is supposed to be very abrasion resistant. Its pretty expensive so I don't want to roll the dice and hope. I'm thinking of making a removable stretch pocket for my hammock tarp that could be bungee'd to my pack to help the tarp dry when wet.

I'm wondering about the feel of the fabric and how much it stretches.

I don’t think any “pocket” type container will significantly help the tarp dry. You will still need to open it up, hang it out, once you get the opportunity. The advantage of mesh is it allows the “bag” to dry. For example, if you use nylon snake skins and put away a wet tarp, the side of those snake skins becomes wet. And you’ll want to dry that out too. But that might mean turning them inside out. A mesh skin, on the other hand, will dry easily just being in the sun.

So the mesh feature is no so much for the tarp as it is for the skin itself. IMHO.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

I agree with cougarmeat, a wet tarp will stay wet until deployed to dry again. A wet solid snakeskin, especially a silnylon one, stays wet forever unless turned inside out... a real pain. Snakeskins made of netting, dry themselves out.

Thanks folks, I appreciate your perspectives but I asked for comments about the fabric. I've been backpacking for nearly 50 years. I want to try something. I know it might not be effective and comments about that aren't what I'm trying to learn.
