Wink North Country Trail...Wisconsin with Shug & alifeoutdoors

Lucky enough to get out again for a 2 nighter. Shawn and I hiked in the Rainbow Wilderness and the Chequamegon National Forest on the NCT in Wisconsin.
I had my Warbonnet Eldorado single layer hammock, JRB Ultralight Shenandoah Quilt (40F), Wilderness Logics 40 UQ and my Blackcrow tarp.
Shawn had Warbonnet XLC, Wooki UQ and a DCF tarp from Hammockgear.
We had a really fine ramble through the green tunnel.

Looked like a fun trip and some nice campsites by the lake even if they were a bit breezy.

Makes me want to hit the NCST here in PA. Hopefully work will slow down after July 4th and I'll get some weekends off

It is 62 years ago since I spent a summer as a Forest Service lookout in Montana. The only person that I saw that summer was the District Ranger who packed in supplies every two weeks. Bread at that time was not yet enclosed in plastic so that it only lasted a few days. Pancakes became very important so that they were prepared every morning and used throughout the day, usually with brown sugar. I have never figured out why backpackers don't prep sandwiches at home for the first couple of meals rather than boil water for expensive trail meals. Sector 7, well done.

Getting to the woods makes me appreciate where I am living. Most is 3 and a half to 5 hours away. Glory!

That Thermocell impressed us both I reckon. Be interested to see what the cartridge one would do.

A burger or whatever is good first night. Pancakes made my day.
