    They may not be rated by the manufacturer but I assume that has more to do with product liability issues. The XL version seems to be more than strong enough for hammock suspension. I wouldn't use the UFAs (the open loop version) for anything that involves significant weight.

    For tarp ridge lines, consider the notching the standard alu LAs. Makes them so much easier to use.

    I just bought a pair of Turtle Ties to try... Haven't used them yet but they are interesting design.
    Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

    I have a standard small Ti set im playing with. Using them with my kevlar straps. Just
    did my Boreal Trail Hike last week (130km) and liked them. (these are not the big ones)

    I've started using steel LA for my suspension with a single strand of amsteel from the tree straps.
    Like Firesongs picture above, CL is larks footed onto the mid size hole. Pull a bite through the large hole hook that onto the small leg. Three wraps around the small and big loop doesn't slip at all.
