    XLC and Tensa4, help?

the tensa4 is well worth the learning curve. it took me a few tries to get it right, but once i got it, it's fantastic. I watched shug's video of how he set it up which was extremely helpful. basically, you have to play with the base distance and the Ridgeline to dial in a good layout for your particular wants. keep trying and you'll get it!

Keep note for your set-up, suspension and distances for each hammock. Helps a lot to have that.

    I use a 11dutch hammock
    I am 280lbs and 6’
It took me a while to dial it in
Like you i had the baseline too wide at first
And once i dialed it all in suspension and all
It now works perfectly with zero fussing
    Keep at it

I have found that the set up for the Tensa stand with the foot end higher makes for an easier set up with the BBXLC as it needs to be hung the same way. I leave about 6" of strap on each end and make micro adjustments from there. Moving the baseline in and out can help depending on your size, lay, etc.

I use an 11’ Dutch netless with my Tensa 4 stand. It took a while to get the setup right for me. Once it was dialed in I made a dog bone for the bottom spread of the stand, (71" lg.). I use a carabiner to attach the hammock at the head end and a carabiner and continuous loop, (doubled over approx. 8” lg.) to attach the foot end. This way the spread of the stand and the distance from end to end of the stand is always the same. The sit height of the hammock is also always the same. I use whoopie slings to stake the foot and head ends of the stand to the ground, (leave slack on the head end). Different locations and the grade of the land under the stand requires adjustment.

I tried to use the tarp extension a number of times and could not get them to work. I almost gave up but thanks to Raftingtigger and members here on Hammock Forums I got the tarp extensions to work. I'm really happy with my Tensa 4.

The Tensa 4 works great and you will figure it out.
