MightyFine, I’ve been to many hangs and John Rock is my favorite.
One of our Hammock Forum members and premier vendor, Avery Flynn
lives in your neck of the woods. All I can say is the BBQ down yonder is
on par with up here in the heart of BBQ country.
You will be welcome and feel right at home at John Rock.
First time up the hill, maybe hike with some of us.
Or use an app such as AllTrails Pro and follow the loop in counter-clockwise direction.

Only 3 weeks to go and cant think of much else what is needed. Peeeety has Big Blue # ? covered; Dave has charcoal covered; Athenwise and Big Bill have condiments, and I will have two containers of firewood in my truck, please feel free to bring some up to the site if your at the parking lot. Cant have enough firewood.

So far about 20 people attending.

    Don't forget your hotdog forks.

I plan to be there late day Thursday so I can spend some time Friday fishing the Davidson. My first John Rock hang and I'm excited.

Phantom I have some new lies to tell around the campfire.

Slugger when I moved I found several boxes of photos I stashed away from some sketchy south east Asia adventures. I'll bring'em so we can reminisce.

I just hope the back holds up and I don't spend the whole weekend in the hammock. On second thought that wouldn't be so bad either.

I usually hike in with minimal gear and food. And then on day two hike back to car4more
food etc. around midday. Also I’ve been known to sneak into town4a midday buffet. Seems I wasn’t
alone—there were several of us checking out the buffet.
As a former driver, I learned some true stories.

You will see the Davidson River on the left side while driving to the parking lot for the event. If your back is bothering you I have a remedy in my backpack in liquid form.

Exactly, you don't have to bring everything to the site at once. First trip up I bring my backpack, chair, and food, second trip is my cooler and firewood on day one.

I do have enough firewood but I will need help bringing some up on a daily basis. Will have it stored in the bed of my Tacoma non 96.
