How to hang hammock in bedroom?

If i want to use my hammock to sleep in bedroom above existing bed, I'm looking for suggested mounting distances etc..

    Assumptions:
    hammock 10'
Height above bed (from floor) 43"
So my ceilings are 8' so 96". The head of my regular bed is against a wall (obviously) and i could mount a eye bolt to it. The other wall is across the room and would interfere with coming in and out of bedroom. If i mount that end to the ceiling then each end is at a different height

According to hammock calc i would have to mount the ends 15.3' apart.

Or does a ridgeline correct all of this?

The basic strategy here is to put an eyebolt or hanger in the studs kitty-corner across the room. You need to do your own due diligence on wall strength and angles because its your house, not mine ;-)

Mounting to the ceiling does not help in a small space like this unless you intend to climb on the bed to climb into the hammock (i.e. have the hammock hang unreachably high off the floor). I would also recommend going into the attic and putting in reinforcements if you do that.

I would avoid putting one mount in the ceiling and the other in the wall. You want them roughly at the same height.

A ridgeline isnt need here. In fact, i would prefer never to have one indoors.

See this thread for more than you ever wanted to know about hanging indoors:

I can't go Kitty corner since my wife would not allow that. I would be climbing in from bed, since i would be in hammock above bed beside my wife in bed. I'm not sure i can access that area in the attic.

There are some metal brackets that have adjustable, and very strong, attachment points. I don't remember the name, but there are quite a few folks who have adopted these to their situation. It might work very well given your need for height adjustment. I believe they had their origin in the boating world.
