    Bonjour from the Swiss mountains

Hello hello, since I discover (by chance) hammock camping last summer in Corsica I cannot sleep on the floor anymore ! I am currently in the south of the Alps in Ticino trying to test my gear but I realise that I am quite unprepared to camp in such conditions ahha
I am looking forward to learn more about the topic because it seems fascinating !
And about me, I am studying medicine in Transylvania and love bicycling )

Ciao from the center of Switzerland!

I just recieved my WBBB XLC Hammock and was some weeks ago at your point. A really good source is the book The Ultimate Hang 2. If you are looking for a more entertaining (but still educating and informative) way for hammocking, I can definitely recommend checking out the tutorials from shugmery on youtube. Just love this crazy guy. Boost my mood every time

Welcome Atpase. I just got to visit Switzerland in January. Absolutely beautiful where I was in Altdorf. Sadly I had no time to hike or camp but plan to come back for vacation when I can.

You’ll find a huge wealth of information here. Again, welcome!

Welcome to HF. My grandparents immigrated from Switzerland when they were young. They met and married later. Swiss and English was spoken on the farm when I was a boy. Love and respect the Swiss culture. In fact I had a slice of natural smoked Swiss cheese as a part of supper ;-). I have a couple of Hammocktent 90 degree hammocks from Switzerland.

Willkommen! Part of my family tree comes from Grindelwald-- what a beautiful place. I was blessed to visit that village years ago.

I'm glad you found out about one of the most comfortable ways to camp. Lots of information here... most of the current hammock technology was developed on this forum.

"I fish because I love to; because I love the environs where trout are found, which are invariably beautiful... because, in a world where most men seem to spend their lives doing things they hate, my fishing is at once an endless source of delight and an act of small rebellion; because trout do not lie or cheat and cannot be bought or bribed or impressed by power, but respond only to quietude and humility and endless patience...." --Robert Traver

Hello and welcome to HF! Europe seems to be growing in terms of its outdoors industry. My Amok and associated gear came from Norway. I have gear from Italy, Germany and the UK as well (not all for hammocks, but outdoors/camping). So, hopefully between the EU vendors and others her on the Forums, you can meet your needs.

    Enjoy the hammock quest.
My daughter was scheduled to be in Switzerland this Summer with Circus Monti but of course thet cancelled their season due to the pandemic.
Was so looking forward to flying over to get some time in Switzerland....and eat lots of Swiss chocolate!
