Hi, would I need extra long straps for a trip around Lake Tahoe? as in are the trees larger than say, Co. or Mn?
Thanks,
TomL

Long ago I learned there is very little penalty for carrying extra stuff in the car. How many times have I dressed fro the current temperature (in town) only to find it a bit chillier on the mountain (only 20 miles away); how easy it would have been to put an extra jacket or hat in the car and decide what I want to carry when I get there.. Why not bring both your long and short straps. Once you get there you’ll have a much better idea of what you need - maybe invest in hiking a short distance down the trail to see what things will look like before packing for the adventure.
You will only have a slight penalty in bulk and weight if you carry 15 ft straps instead of 9 or 12 ft.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

Amazing trip report! I must hike that trail now! Thanks for sharing
I did TRT in lil over 9 days few years back, actually first longer hike with hammock. No issues at all with the std 15’ straps from Myers tech.

Cougarmeat,
I ended up carrying an extra whoopie sling and had to use it twice. Fun trail aside from the bicycles on the East side.
