Thumbs up Steve from Pleasant Hill, California

After a few years hammock camping and general tinkering, finally decided to jump on the forums to go deeper into the world of hammock camping. Excited to meet new folks, share stories, and talk shop on gear and setups!

I'm located in Pleasant Hill, California, but originally from the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. Camping out here is very different, way more restricting at times compared to where I grew up, but there's still some great spots to hang even along the coast. Since I have a basic intro setup, would be awesome to find local meetups some day in my area.

I've had my current setup for a long time, and a catalyst of getting on here is to begin the journey of my next hammock setup, and then the next one after that, and while I'm at it, sure I need a summer versus winter setup, and why not have an ultralight setup too?!? It's all about the Journey, right?

    My Current Setup:
    ENO SuperSub
    ENO Guardian SL Bug Net
    ENO Ember 2 UQ
    ENO Gear Hammock
    MSR Wing 100 Tarp
    CF Tarp Poles
    ENO Helios XL Suspension
Simply Light Design Structural Ridgeline (Amsteel)
    Simply Light Design Ridgeline Organizer
    Tyvek Ground Cloth

    Planned Upgrades:
I need to graduate from ENO for camping. Fun to lounge in as a chair, but I'm too big for it.
New 11' Integrated Bugnet Hammock (Replace ENO SuperSub, Guardian SL)
New UQ (Replace ENO Ember 2)
New Tarp Ridgeline Setup (Combo Hammock Gear/Simply Light Design Gear)

    Current Setup Photos:

Looking forward to learning as much as I can on here!

Talk to Jared at SLD, he’s fast, makes quality gear and will work with you on what you want. Autumn Ultrailight has shown some good looking stuff, too.

    Welcome to the forum!

Jared is awesome! I've ordered twice, and both are shipped literally same day or next day, and high quality stuff. Will chem out Autumn Ultralight, thanks!

I've had my eye on a Trail Lair now for awhile - probably will be my next hammock at this rate. Hard to beat the price/customizations for a ~$200 hammock.

Welcome to the Forum, I am new here too. I live in Vacaville (not to far from you). Let me know if you ever want to hang in the Sierra's, I am thinking of heading out for a night this 4th weekend if my tarp comes in in time. BTW, I love that little gear hammock.

Awesome to have a local here. It’d be great to get a hang going somewhere. Hope that tarp comes in, did you catch a WB sale?

I’m about to overhaul my setup, but the gear sling will remain. It’s been a lifesaver over the years for sure.

I have a tarp coming from HG. Those guys are great to do business with. Other than sleeping in my hammock in my backyard I haven't been out on the trail with it yet. I have a ton to learn about hammocks.

Agreed on HG. I just got two of their titanium clips in to play with. The beauty of this hobby is the hardware is either free (knot learning), or cheap (hardware) with a major purchase or investment once in a blue moon. Always learning on this forum!
