TNhunter, where do I get those ends? Those look pretty good. Might want o make them a bit thicker so it rounds off even more but they look like a good idea. They come off and on easy? Light?

I guess even the GREATS in the hammock world try out their hammocks the same as us common folks. Similar to the whole "they put pants on 1 leg at a time like the rest of us" ideology? Lol

I'm guessing that TNhunter has the spreader bar bumpers that Arrowhead Equipment sells:
    https://www.arrowhead-equipment.com/...arBumpers.html

I'd like to get something similar for my Ridgerunner, but with the fall 2019 redesign of the RR, that metal plate that the ends of the bars slid into was eliminated. The ends of the poles go right into a loop on the dogbones now. I don't know if AHE or anyone else has a commercial product that's been adapted to the new design.

I made those from a bike inner tube bought from Wally World.

It's easy to make the bumpers with non-sticky, self adhering silicone tape that you can get at any hardware store. For my RidgeRunner, I made two or three wraps, then poked a hole for the spreader bars. I don't have a DCF tarp, but have no worry with silnylon or silpoly.
